MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - The deputy director of the Novosibirsk region branch of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service, Andrei Andreyev, has been detained on suspicion of accepting a bribe and participating in a criminal group, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Wednesday.
"The deputy head of the Novosibirsk region branch of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service, Andrei Andreyev, 40, was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee's division for the Siberia Federal District against members of a criminal community led by Alexander Trunov," Markin said.
"The information available to investigators confirms that Andreyev accepted a bribe of $20,000 and was involved with Trunov's criminal community," he said.
Trunov's criminal group committed a number of serious and very serious crimes in the Novosibirsk region between 1990 and 2009, Markin said.
"Evidence is being collected today and all of the other members of the organized criminal community are being identified," he said.
