CSTO interior ministers to consider stabilization measures for Kyrgyzstan

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The interior ministers of member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a body bringing together seven former Soviet republics, are meeting on November 9 to consider stabilization measures for Kyrgyzstan, which has been hit by a devastating political crisis this year, the CSTO said on Wednesday.

At the course meeting, to be held in Moscow, "the ministers will discuss the implementation of a decision by the Collective Security Council on priority measures to stabilize the situation in the Kyrgyz Republic," the organization said in a press release.

The ministers will also discuss proposals for creating a mechanism for reaction to potential threats and challenges, for signing a CSTO treaty on combating crime, for exchanges of information technology in combating cross-border crime, and for personnel training.

The CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
