MAKHACHKALA. Nov 8 (Interfax) - The terrorism threat remains high in Dagestan, the North Caucasus republic's leader Magomedsalam Magomedov said.
"Since the start of the year, 154 militants have been eliminated and 367 firearms and more than 166 kilograms of explosives have been confiscated in Dagestan," Magomedov.
The situation in Dagestan remains tense despite the progress made by local law enforcement services in combating militant groups, the republic's head said.
"Sabotage and terrorist groups active in the region have not given up their criminal plans," he said.
