Ukraine to make another delivery of armored personnel carriers to Thailand

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Ukraine is readying for the delivery of another batch of armored personnel carriers to Thailand by yearend, a source in state-run Urkspetsexport told Interfax.

"Another batch of BTR-3E1 will be dispatched to Thailand in December," he said, adding that the previous delivery was made in September.

The Kyiv Mechanical Plant is training Thai personnel to use the armored personnel carriers.

A contract on the delivery of BTR-3E1, auxiliary vehicles, instruments for maintenance and repairs, trainers and munitions was signed in 2007.

Thai media estimates the contract to be worth $130 million. Ukraine will supply 112 armored personnel carriers to Thailand in 2010-2011.
