MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems is energetically designing equipment for new Russian research and interplanetary rovers, Reshetnev General Director Nikolai Testoyedov told Interfax-AVN.
"Information Satellite Systems has been supplying solar batteries for main projects of the Lavochkin Design and Production Center, such as Phobos Grunt, Electro L, Spectrum R and Spectrum UF, since 2004. The company produced an antenna rotary mechanism for Phobos Grunt," he said.
It is also planned to make the driver for the Spectrum UF ultraviolet space observatory's antenna, Testoyedov said.
Reshetnev and Lavochkin will build the Spectrum Millimetron observatory, he said. "They [Lavochkin] will make the platform, and we will design the payload. Reshetnev personnel have made a rough sketch of the observatory. It is being coordinated," he said.
The observatory will study outer space, Testoyedov said.
