Georgia continues arms imports - Tbilisi

TBILISI. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Georgia continues arms imports to build up defense, not for attacking anyone, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze told a Monday press briefing.

"Georgia does not plan to attack anyone, especially its own citizens on its own territory," she said in comment on a recent South Ossetian report claiming Georgian preparations for an onslaught and the acquisition of Israeli tanks.

The deputy minister could not confirm the tank acquisition report.

She said she did not know which particular armaments were acquired because that was not her area.
