Moscow hopes for ratification of New START in 2010 (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that U.S. President Barack Obama's administration will ensure the ratification of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty before the end of this year.

"We know for sure that the Obama administration is doing its best to ensure the Senate's ratification of this agreement before the end of this year," Russian Permanent Representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin told a Thursday press conference in Moscow.

"That is their [U.S.] home task," he said.

Hopefully, the Obama administration has a way to influence the Senate Republicans, Rogozin said, adding, that American partners understand that the ratification would meet their interests.
