St. Petersburg police will react to radical young people's protests

ST. PETERSBURG. Dec 13 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg law enforcement agencies are keeping track of the calls for protests, by radical young people, made on the Internet and are ready to ensure law and order in the event they take place.

"The criminal police, police and other services are monitoring and analyzing such reports, including those disseminated in open sources," an official with the Main Interior Affairs Department for St. Petersburg told Interfax on Monday.

The source also said the St. Petersburg law enforcement agencies are ready to promptly react to various illegal actions.

"All information is being analyzed. Preventive actions are taken with regard for this analysis," he said.

The riots that occurred in Moscow and St. Petersburg on December 11 were followed by calls on members of Caucasian diasporas to carry out rallies in response to the riots.
