MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court has sanctioned the arrest of Artur Arsibiyev, 20, who was involved in the fight in which Spartak fan Yegor Sviridov was killed.
Arsibiyev was taken into police custody in the courtroom on Monday.
Arsibiyev will be under arrest for two months (until February 6, 2011). The court ruling may be contested within three days. The suspect's lawyer Suleiman Ibragimov told Interfax he intends to file an appeal with the Moscow City Court.
Arsibiyev, who is suspected of hooliganism and battery, has refused to admit his guilt, but has agreed to cooperate with the investigators.
Arsibiyev's lawyer said his client has no prior convictions and worked as a shop assistant in Moscow.
On Saturday, December 11, the Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court arrested two other men, Khasan Ibragimov and Nariman Ismailov, who are suspected of hooliganism and battery. The investigators believe the fight was initiated by Ismailov.
The Moscow Savyolovsky Court on December 8 issued an arrest warrant for Aslan Cherkesov, who has origins in Kabardino-Balkaria, who the investigators believe shot Sviridov. He has been charged with murder.
Yegor Sviridov was killed in a fight near 37 Kronshtadsky Boulevard on Moscow's Golovinsky district at around 12:30 a.m. on December 7.
More than ten people were involved in the fight. According to the investigation, Cherkesov, 26, fired several rubber bullets at Sviridov, who sustained four injuries, including to his head, and died on the spot. His friend was also wounded and hospitalized and is in serious condition.
