Russia to build new generation icebreaker - deputy prime minister (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax-AVN) - A new generation nuclear powered icebreaker will be built in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said at a session of the Maritime Board on Friday.

"The money earned through selling a certain stake in Sovcomflot will not go to state coffers, but will be spent on building a new generation nuclear powered icebreaker. This is hugely important," he said.

Appropriate instructions will be given after the Maritime Board's session, Ivanov said.
