Roscosmos appoints new deputy chief

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Alexander Lopatin has been appointed as deputy head of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), the agency said in a statement on Friday.

Prior to this appointment Lopatin served as deputy general director at the Central Research Institute of Machine-building and as deputy chairman of the state commission for manned flight testing.

Lopatin is replacing Viktor Remishevsky who was sacked after the failed launch of the Proton-M carrier rocket with three Glonass-M navigation satellites.
