Russian ambassador to attend Lukashenko's inauguration

MINSK. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov will attend tomorrow's inauguration of President Elect Alexander Lukashenko, Russian Embassy Counselor Vadim Gusev has told Interfax.

"Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Belarus Alexander Surikov will attend the inauguration ceremony," the diplomat said.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, the head of the European Union's mission in Minsk, the ambassadors of the EU member states to Belarus and the United States charge d'affaires in Minsk will not be present at Lukashenko's inauguration.
