KYIV. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Turkey have agreed to cooperate in the military-industrial sector.
"Ukrainian companies are ready to take part in tenders to meet the needs of the Turkish army and the Turkish side is ready to discuss our proposals," Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych said at a joint news conference with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Turkey wants to buy Antonov An-148 aircraft and to jointly develop a tank, he said.
Ukraine and Turkey are developing a missile system and they have agreed to continue cooperating in the aerospace industry, the Ukrainian president said.
"We have plans to launch a Turkish satellite on an Ukrainian carrier rocket in February 2011," Yanukovych said.
