Russia can put an additional 200 brigades on alert in case of threat - Russian General Staff

MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Armed Forces have 180 mobilization-ready brigades that can be deployed if necessary, Chief of the Russian General Staff Nikolai Makarov told army and navy veterans in Moscow on Thursday.

"No one has destroyed the mobilization readiness of the Armed Forces. At present, we have 180 mobilization-ready brigades and the necessary hardware in military districts," he said.

In times of peace, mobilization brigades are only partially manned. But in case of a military threat, they are fully manned by reservists," the general said.
