Nighttime breaks introduced for Dagestan, Chechnya rail traffic for security reasons

MAKHACHKALA, Russia. Feb 10 (Interfax) - For security reasons, railroad traffic will be suspended in the Russian North Caucasus republics of Dagestan and Chechnya from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily under a directive by Russian railroad monopoly RZD (RTS: RZHD) that took effect on Wednesday, the company said.

"Separate schedules have been developed for all the trains. In Dagestan, the changes will affect trains running between Makhachkala and Moscow, between Makhachkala and Astrakhan and between Baku and Tyumen," an RZD spokesman in Rostov-on-Don told Interfax.

Makhachkala is the Dagestani capital.
