Irkut, HAL negotiating cooperation in MS-21 project

BANGALORE. India. Feb 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Irkut Corporation has been holding negotiations with India's HAL for six months to discuss cooperation in the development of the Russian prospective medium-range plane MS-21, Irkut President Oleg Demchenko said at the Aero India 2011 show.

"We have been holding negotiations with HAL on the MS-21 project for six months," he said.

"We held negotiations with the Chinese and with Airbus and offered them a joint venture on 50/50 and 60/40 terms to develop a jet with 50 to 200 seats," he said.

The Chinese and the Europeans suggested building a plane of 100-130, but that would be a direct rival of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, he said.
