MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - All officers from the Moscow Central Interior Department will undergo re-certification as part of the process of renaming the organization from "militia" to "police," but there are no plans to make staff redundant, said Vladimir Kolokoltsev, head of the Moscow Central Interior Department.
"The re-certification will be carried out under the slogan: professional, literate and hardworking officers will continue the service and those who fail the test will be gone," Kolokoltsev said at a meeting with the Moscow militia personnel on Wednesday.
The main task is to weed out officers that are not suitable, he said.
The Moscow militia re-certification process will take two months, Kolokoltsev said.
