Duma ratifies Russian-U.S. deal on military transits to Afghanistan

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma has ratified a Russian-U.S. agreement on transit of U.S. weapons, military hardware, materiel, and personnel through Russian territory to Afghanistan.

The Russian and U.S. presidents signed the agreement on July 6, 2009. It stipulated that, before its official ratification, its application would be started upon the expiration of 60 days from its signature.
