MAKHACHKALA. March 14 (Interfax) - A member of the Kaspiisk town assembly was injured in the early hours of Friday as a result of an attack in Makhachkala, an on-duty officer at the Russian Investigative Committee office for Dagestan told Interfax .
The attack occurred at 00:20 Moscow time on Friday, he said. An Audi car carrying parliamentarian Zapir Isayev and another passenger came under fire in Gamidov street.
"The MP suffered gunshot wounds and was hospitalized. A criminal investigation has been launched on charges of attempted murder and illicit arms trafficking," the officer said.
