Russian rescuers arrive in Japan

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - The first group of Russian rescuers has arrived in Japan from Moscow on an Ilyushin Il-76 plane of the Emergency Situations' Ministry.

"The plane with a group of rescuers from Tsentrospas unit arrived in Tokyo at 10:10 a.m. Moscow time," Interfax was told at the ministry's information department.

The plane brought to Japan 50 rescuers of the ministry's central air-borne rescue team, special search and rescue equipment, tools for crashing concrete, power generators and means of communication.

The second team of 25 Russian rescuers is expected to fly in to Tokyo by a Mil Mi-26 helicopter from Khabarovsk.
