Gang members detained in Karachayevo-Cherkessia

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 14 (Interfax) - Police continue searching for the leader of a gang several members of which have been detained in the Republic of Karachayevo-Cherkessia, a source in North Caucasus security services told Interfax on Thursday.

"A tip-off was received that local resident Ruslan Kumukov had set up a gang on the territory of the republic. Apart from Kumukov, the gang reportedly included four more young men. Three suspects were detained in the locality of Pravokubanskoye last Wednesday, and one more suspect in the city of Karachayevsk," the source said.

The leader of the gang managed to escape.

A criminal case has been opened.
