CSTO seeks to work out roadmap for cooperation with UN

"The UN secretary general and we have agreed that a delegation of the CSTO secretariat led by a deputy secretary general will fly to New York in the near future to work out an interaction roadmap," Bordyuzha said.

The CSTO has great potential in combating drug trafficking, Bordyuzha said. In particular, the organization does not intend to confine itself to the anti-drug operation Channel and is considering the possible establishment of drug rehabilitation centers, he said.

Ban took part in a meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council, which was also attended by representatives of the CSTO member-states, the CIS Executive Committee, and the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), ambassadors of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, top officials from the CSTO Joint Staff, the heads of the State Duma committees, and officials from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
