Duma ratifies nuclear cooperation agreement with Turkey

MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - The State Duma on Friday passed a bill ratifying the intergovernmental agreement with Turkey on cooperation in the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The agreement was signed in Ankara on August 6, 2009.

It is a framework agreement drafted with due account to Russia's international commitments.

It is aimed at updating the legal foundation for the scientific, technological and economic cooperation of Russia and Turkey in the sphere of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
