MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Slovenian President Danilo Turk has called for the promotion of the European security initiative of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
"You put forward the strategic security initiative for Europe 18 months ago," he told Medvedev on Monday.
"We live in a multi-polar world, and the [security] system must be organized in a different way," he said.
Last year's Russia-NATO Lisbon summit mirrored progress in the promotion of this initiative, "and it must be promoted further," Turk said.
He offered to discuss some other international problems, such as frozen conflicts, with Medvedev. "We value highly your contribution to the settlement of frozen conflicts, including those in Karabakh and Transdniestria, and I would like to hear your opinion about the settlement prospects," he said.
