SKOLKOVO. May 18 (Interfax) - Russia is not going to withdraw from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) but believes that court rulings must be free from any hint of any kind of engagement, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told a press conference on Wednesday.
At times, the feeling is that "a court decision is not impartial and is sometimes even politically motivated," he said.
"We are not talking about it aloud, but such opinions do exist. This is why these (ECHR) decisions are discussed in legal circles, and some of our political leaders are talking about it," Medvedev said.
"But that does not mean that we ceased our membership and are going to surrender our ECHR membership," he said.
"Any court, be it national or international, must create with all the parties a feeling that it is non-engaged, impartial and fair," he said.
