MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - The Israeli embassy to Russia does not comment on the detention and expulsion of Israeli military attache Vadim Leiderman from Russia.
"We make no comments on this information," spokesman for the Israeli embassy to Russia Alex Goldman-Shayman told Interfax.
It was reported earlier that Israeli army colonel Vadim Leiderman was detained and later expelled from Russia. He is suspected of collecting classified information.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has not commented on the report of Leiderman's detention yet.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) also refused to confirm or refute the report of the detention of the Israeli military attache. "No comment," an officer of the FSB PR center told Interfax.
The detention and expulsion became known on Israel's Independence Day and the 20th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
