MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Helicopters Holding will deliver more than 1,000 helicopters to the Russian Defense Ministry before 2020, Holding General Director Dmitry Petrov told reporters on Thursday.
"The state armament program stipulates the delivery of over 1,000 helicopters within a decade. The deliveries will grow a lot starting from this year," he told a press conference dedicated to the opening of the HeliRussia 2011 show in Moscow.
"We have no problems in the fulfillment of the state order," Petrov remarked.
The holding made 214 helicopters in 2010, and production might grow to 262 in 2011. "We plan to make about 300 helicopters in 2012," he said.
The holding's aggregate output has doubled since 2007, he said.
"Our holding was the world's third biggest producer of helicopters last year. As you remember, we ranked sixth several years ago," Petrov said.
