French company to supply engines for Russian helicopters

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - The Russian Helicopters Holding and the French Turbomeca company have signed a contract on the delivery of a large batch of engines for Kamov Ka-62 helicopters.

No less than 40 helicopter engines made by Turbomeca will be supplied for Russia's prospective Ka-62.

The contract was signed at the HeliRussia 2011 helicopter show in Moscow.

The deliveries will be done within two years, the holding said.

Russian Helicopters and Turbomeca signed an agreement on the development and delivery of no less than 308 Turbomeca engines for the modernized Ka-62 in April 2011.

"We signed the first engine contract almost immediately after we signed basic agreements. I am confident our partnership will be fruitful," Russian Helicopters General Director Dmitry Petrov said.
