MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax-AVN) - A new-generation helicopter to travel at 500 kilometers per hour may become an international project, Oboronprom Unified Industrial Corporation General Director Andrei Reus said at the HeliRussia 2011 helicopter show in Moscow.
"It is possible to engineer a joint product, but we are working alone so far," he said.
The government supports the high-speed helicopter project, and this is a world practice in which innovative products gain governmental support, he said.
U.S. Sikorski and European Eurocopter are making similar works, Reus said.
The Russian high-speed helicopter model will be chosen from the variants suggested by the Mil and Kamov design bureaus, he said.
