YEREVAN. May 19 (Interfax) - It is necessary to prevent violations of the ceasefire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone, Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
"We are monitoring the situation along the contact line. Violations of the ceasefire regime may trigger a new conflict," he said.
There is no alternative to peace settlement, Bordyuzha said.
As for the CSTO position in the case of the resumption of Karabakh hostilities, he said, "Armenia is an active member of the CSTO, and this membership has consequences. Armenia assumed certain obligations to the organization, and other members of the CSTO have obligations to Armenia."
