Two defense company directors sacked for disrupting govt contract - Rostekhnologii chief (Part 2)

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Two general directors of defense companies have been dismissed and six disciplined for failing to fulfill the 2010 government defense contract, Russian Technologies (Rostekhnologii) Chief Sergei Chemezov reported to President Dmitry Medvedev.

"Administrative and disciplinary measures have been taken over the instances of failure to fulfill certain government defense assignments, including on priority types of weapons, military and special hardware," Chemezov said.

The sacked directors are N. Platonov of the Poisk Research Institute and V. Edvabnik of the Research Institute of Electronic Devices. Both have been fired for disrupting the supply of fuses for multiple-launch rocket systems.

Six other general directors were disciplined. In particular, reprimands were issued to N.Parkhomenko of VNII Gradient, M. Volkov of Bryansky EMZ, G. Kapralov of PO Kvant, for disrupting the supply of electronic warfare products.

The general Director of the Ramensky Instrument Engineering Plant, A. Chumakov, was disciplined for disrupting the development of parts of avionics.

Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant's Deputy General Director S. Yevdokimov was disciplined for disrupting the deadlines for the supply of corvette parts under Project 20380.

Disciplinary action was taken against N. Nikitin, Executive Director at Kuznetsov, who disrupted the supply of the "R" product and the overhaul of aircraft engines.

"All heads of the Corporation's organizations, who failed to ensure the completion of assignments within the deadlines set by the 2010 government defense contract, including parts supplies, will not be paid an annual bonus for 2010," Chemezov said..
