Medvedev appoints Smolensk, Tver region police chiefs

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev appointed Police Maj. Gen. Vladimir Morozov to head the Interior Ministry's Smolensk Region Department after relieving him of his current duties, and Police Col. Yury Rychkov as head of the Interior Ministry's Tver Region Department, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

Police Maj. Gen. Alexander Kem has been appointed head of the Interior Ministry's Transport Police Department in the Urals Federal District, after he was freed from his current duties.

The rank of police major-general has been conferred on Kem and Morozov.
