MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Russia's ballistic missile early warning systems (BMEWS) could become an important element of a joint European missile defense system, Col. Igor Morozov, head of the Space Troops Operational Command Headquarters, said.
"First of all, missile warning information systems are 100% ready to integrate in the European missile defense system," Morozov told a conference on the European missile defense system, attended by foreign military attaches.
"This system is designed to automatically detect with high accuracy an actual missile strike against Russia and missile characteristics, and issue warning information," he said.
