YEREVAN. May 20 (Interfax) - Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan has said he is concerned over attempts to transfer efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to formats other than the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.
"The logic of this conflict settlement process adopted within the OSCE Minsk Group is jeopardized," Kirakosyan said at a conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan on Friday.
"As a rule, international organizations are not familiar with the details of any negotiating process because it is confidential. Any careless step could have a negative effect in such a situation," he said.
Securing a peaceful solution to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh is a priority of Armenia's foreign policy, he said.
"Our regional policy is aimed at helping achieve peace and stability across the region," Kirakosyan said.
Commenting on the CSTO's work, Kirakosyan said that "this organization is both an important component of our country's security system and helps maintain regional stability and security."
"If military-political cooperation is not directed against a third country, it can only serve as a guarantee of peace," he said.
