TBILISI. May 23 (Interfax) - Leaders of opposition groups that on Saturday gathered for a large rally in Georgia's capital, Tbilisi, to demand the removal of President Mikheil Saakashvili were allowed to speak live through Public Television after effectively presenting the official TV group's management with an ultimatum.
"It is a very small victory but a victory nevertheless. Today we have a chance to carry through a radical change and remove the anti-national regime. We urge the whole people to join our action," one of the leaders, former parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze, said in a TV program.
She said the rally would not disperse.
