Okruashvili says May 25 will be the last day of the incumbent Georgian authorities

TBILISI. May 23 (Interfax) - Irakly Okruashvili, a leading figure in the opposition Georgian Party and former Georgian defense minister, has said that he will be with the protesters in Tbilisi on May 25.

"I can make two promises. I will be in Tbilisi on May 25 and May 25 will become the last day of the incumbent authorities," he said on Georgian Maestro TV channel on Sunday.

He said he is not afraid of being arrested in Georgia.

Okruashvili has been living in France as a political refugee. After being arrested in October 2007 he struck a deal with the Georgian prosecutor's office and several months later left for Germany and from there to France where he was granted political asylum last year.

Rustavi 2 TV channel reported last Thursday that Orkuashvili is holding secret meetings in Moscow. However, the press center of the Georgian Party in Tbilisi told Interfax that the opposition politician is in Switzerland and did not visit Moscow recently.
