Next Georgian opposition protest slated for 3 p.m. Monday - Burjanadze

TBILISI. May 23 (Interfax) - Georgian opposition parties' leaders, who spent an hour-long emergency meeting on further actions, have agreed to continue the protest outside the Public Television building in Tbilisi.

"We have decided to stay one more day outside the Public Television building and to conduct a rally at 3 p.m. on Monday. Protestors who are tired will be replaced by opposition activists who have rested," ex-speaker of the Georgian parliament Nino Burjanadze said at the rally.

It has been agreed that the Maestro television company will provide a 24-hour live coverage from the protest venue, she said.

"Over the past 24 hours we repelled four attacks on the part of the authorities. We are ready to repel other attacks but this time they will be broadcast live across the world," she said.

Members of all opposition parties are expected to join the protest, Burjanadze said.

Currently, around 5,000 opposition supporters are staying outside the Public Television building, according to the protest organizers.
