MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet representatives of Fatah and Hamas Palestinian movements in Moscow on Monday.
A source on the minster's delegation earlier told the press that "on Monday Sergei Lavrov will meet representatives of Palestinian organizations."
Representatives of Fatah, Hamas and several other Palestinian organizations arrived in Moscow last Friday at the invitation of the Institute for Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On May 4 in Cairo the leaders of the two movements signed an agreement on inter-Palestinian reconciliation. The ceremony was attended by Fatah leader and head of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Hamas Khaled Mashaal, representatives of member-nations of the League of Arab States (LAS), LAS Secretary General Amr Moussa and head of European diplomacy Catherine Ashton.
Fatah and Hamas are supposed to set up a transitional government that will prepare general elections.
