MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin has met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia Susan Elliot to discuss joint aid for Kyrgyzstan.
"The situation in the Central Asian countries, and U.S.-Russian cooperation in this direction, were discussed in the context of a regular exchange of views," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"There was particular focus on the development of the situation in Kyrgyzstan and the discussion of joint steps to provide the necessary help to this country," the statement said.
