MOSCOW May 24 (Interfax) - The Libyan opposition would like to continue dialog with the Russian authorities.
"We do want to maintain dialogue with Russia, because Russia is a very important state and a permanent member of the UN Security Council. We have agreed to remain in contact over the situation in Libya," leader of a delegation from Benghazi, Abdel Rahman Shalgam, said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
The talks dealt with the impermissibility of Muammar Gaddafi's further stay in power in Libya. "This man has held the reins of power for 42 years. Enough," Shalgam said.
