Putin to head supervisory board of Agency for Strategic Initiatives

MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed on Wednesday that he would head the supervisory board of Russia's newly established Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

"The supervisory board will be the main decision-making body, and if there are no objections, yours truly will head it," Putin said during the agency's launching ceremony in Moscow.

"It appears to me that such a direct connection will be an effective arrangement, and I hope there will be effective help," Putin said.

The agency's personnel will include business figures, and regional governors "who have achieved the best results" in improving the investment climate in their regions "could be asked to take part in this work," Putin said.
