MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) will simplify access to instruments of supporting high-tech exports, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said.
"That is what the agency is being set up for - to a great extent for selecting the best experience, summing it up and spreading it. We are also speaking of simplifying access to support mechanisms," he said at the presentation of the agency.
Talking to the leadership of Chelyabinsk-based Teplopribor plant, Putin asked whether the company exports its goods. Head of the plant's Board of Directors Konstantin Zakharov said that it does, but on a small scale.
"The entire system of Western support amounts to helping their own manufacturers enter our markets on the backs of our domestic companies. And we understand that well," Zakharov said.
"Meanwhile, it is our objective to help you enter foreign markets. For the first time we are developing tools to support high-tech exports," Putin responded.
The agency will simplify access to such tools for companies comparable to the plant from Chelyabinsk, Putin said.
"We are speaking of direct state support for manufacturers that have a chance of getting a foothold on the markets; primarily we would want to see markets of high-tech products in third countries," he said.
