MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov has ordered inspections in the Armed Forces to expose possible corruption of commanders.
"The Russian defense minister has ordered spot checks in military units, if necessary with the participation of military prosecutors, in order to rule out illegal taking of money by commanders of the Russian Armed Forces from their subordinates," a source at the Defense Ministry press office told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
If such cases are exposed, the commanders will be punished in accordance with the law.
Servicemen can post their complaints to the commanders of the arms and services of the Armed Forces, military districts and fleets on the website of the Defense Ministry.
"By filling out the form, any servicemen regardless of their subordination, position and rank, as well as their families, may apply to any of the online liaison offices," he said.
All information about the abuse of commanders will be verified, the source noted.
