Commenting on Gaddafi while issue is being discussed at G8 summit is 'inappropriate' - Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO. May 30 (Interfax) - It is inappropriate to comment on the situation with Muammar Gaddafi, since the issue is now being discussed at the G8 summit in Deauville, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.

"I think it is not quite correct for me to discuss it now. There is a summit going on in Deauville, and the leaders of the eight leading countries are discussing this issue there," Putin told reporters in response to a question as to whether Gaddafi is still the legitimate leader of Libya.

The leaders of the G8 countries said in a joint statement that Muammar Gaddafi has lost his right to lead Libya and has to leave.
