MAKHACHKALA. May 30 (Interfax) - A police officer was killed and his weapons stolen in Kizlyar, Dagestan, Saturday night, Interfax was told at the department of the Investigative Committee for Dagestan.
A spokesman for the department said that the patrol officer had been attacked in the street at about midnight.
"An unidentified attacker shot the patrol policeman in the head and fled taking away the hand gun and Kalashnikov assault rifle," he said.
A criminal case of an attempt on the life of a law enforcer, illegal turnover of arms and theft of arms was launched, he said.
