MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of German soldiers are due to visit World War II Soviet and German cemeteries in Russia this summer.
The soldiers will be the guests of the 90th Detached Special Search Battalion of the Western Military District.
"From July 25 to August 1, the Bundeswehr servicemen will carry out joint memorial work with Russian soldiers in Soviet memorial cemeteries - Nevsky Pyatachok and Sinyavinskiye Vysoty - and in a cemetery of German troops in the village of Sologubovka in the Leningrad region," Russian Armed Forces spokesman Capt. Vladimir Drobyshevsky told Interfax-AVN.
The Russian and German soldiers will tidy up the cemeteries and rebury some of the remains. They will also visit a German military cemetery in the village of Korpovo, Novgorod region, Drobyshevsky said.
