Azeri MP does not rule out new format of Karabakh conflict settlement

BAKU. June 10 (Interfax) - The parliament of Azerbaijan should set up a commission for Nagorno Karabakh to promote the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, parliament member Faraj Quliyev has said.

"The formation of a commission for Karabakh by the Azerbaijani parliament can play an auxiliary role for the president in the negotiating process and strengthen the role of the legislative body in resolving the problem," he said at a plenary session of parliament on Friday.

"The efforts of international mediators cannot be regarded as satisfactory. The mediator mission is failing to reach its objective, hence a new format of conflict settlement may appear in autumn," he said.

In Quliyev's opinion, various formats may appear, in particular, consisting of an alliance of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia and also other countries.
