Number of Interior Ministry generals down 22% after re-attestation - Nurgaliyev

PETROZAVODSK. June 24 (Interfax) - The number of generals in the Interior Ministry went down over 22% after re-attestation, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said.

Many top officials have been sent to work in other regions following the recent re-attestation. "No such thing has occurred in the Interior Ministry system for the past several decades," Nurgaliyev said, adding that over 40 top officials changed jobs in 2010 and 31 have changed jobs in 2011.

The main criteria of the work of the interior affairs bodies are openness and citizens' evaluations. "Additional control from society enables us to adjust our actions. It's impossible to work in a closed format now," Nurgaliyev said.
