MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Information Satellite Systems Company based in Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk territory, will soon start the development of the KazSat-3 telecom satellite for Kazakhstan.
"We are working on the conceptual design [of the satellite]. Information Satellite Systems will proceed to design and development (D&D) stage soon," Kazakh Space Agency head Talgat Musabayev told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.
In his words, the launch date is unchanged - the end of 2013 or possibly the beginning of 2014.
Information Satellite Systems and the Kazakh Space Agency signed an agreement on building KazSat-3 at the Le Bourget international air show. The satellite will be based on the Express-1000N platform designed and built by Information Satellite Systems.
The company's General Director Nikolai Testoyedov told Interfax-AVN earlier that the use of the ready platform would cut down the satellite production period. "It is possible to build this satellite very quickly, within 30 months," he said.
