Alexei Moshkov appointed to head Interior Ministry's "K" department - source

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - Alexei Moshkov as been appointed head of the Interior Ministry's Special Technical Measures Bureau (BSTM), better known as the "K" Department, a law enforcement source has told Interfax.

"Alexei Moshkov has been appointed BSTM's new chief," the source said.

Moshkov was previously BSTM deputy chief.

No official confirmation of this report has been immediately available.

Colonel Alexei Moshkov was appointed BSTM deputy head by a presidential decree in September 2007.

He will replace his former superior, ex-BSTM chief Col. General Boris Miroshnikov, who was dismissed from this post by the January 2011 presidential degree after reaching retirement age.
